What length is best?
Most leashes, bought at pet stores, are 4 feet long. This length is great if your dog is small or well trained and never pulls. So start with a 3 to 4 foot leash and,
Go shorter if:
- Your dog is not trained or you are still training your dog
- Your dog is big
- Your dog still pulls
- You live in an urban environment
- You walk primarily on sidewalks and trails with other people and dogs
Go longer if:
- Your dog is trained to walk on a leash without pulling
- You live in a rural environment
- You walk on wide trails or roads
- You walk mostly in places without other people or animals
- Your dog is small
How do I clean this leash?
All of our leashes and couplers are machine washable. Put it in a garment bag to prevent it from getting tangled around other things. Use regular detergent, cold water and a gentle cycle. Do not use bleach as this will cause the climbing cord to break down. Lay flat to dry.
